Collagen Marvels: Boost Skin Elasticity & Glow

by Kass Care on Jan 10, 2024
Collagen Serum

What is Collagen?

The most profuse protein in our body is collagen. It accounts for about 30% of the body’s aggregate protein. It's the primary structure block of the body’s skin, muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and other connective tissues, including organs, blood vessels, and intestinal filling. There are 28 given types of collagen, with type I collagen accounting for 90% of the collagen in the mortal body.

It provides structural support to tissues and plays important roles in cellular processes, including giving the skin its bounce & firmness:

  1. tissue repair
  2. immune response
  3. cellular communication
  4. cellular migration, a process necessary for tissue maintenance

Collagen is made of three peptides and polypeptide chains. They're amino acids that make up the collagen proteins. They are naturally present in the skin but with age, due to the impaired fibroblast, peptide production lessens. No wonder they are included extensively in the skincare products today & for a good reason! They are imperative for the healthy functioning of skin cells. More collagen leads to firmer, younger-looking skin.

How does Collagen work?

Collagen molecules are entwined together to produce a frame that helps maintain skin firmness, joint flexibility, and overall tissue integrity. It imparts strength and elasticity to these tissues.

As one’s life progresses, the body's natural collagen production tends to drop as we begin to age, leading to growing aging signs such as wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. External factors like sun exposure and life choices also contribute to collagen declination. To offset this, collagen supplements or skincare products containing collagen tend to replenish or stimulate the product of collagen in the body. Still, it's essential to note that the effectiveness of collagen products can vary, and individual results may differ.

The Benefits of Peptides: Collagen-Boosting Magic

The collagen molecule is too large to be absorbed by the skin, which is why innumerable people choose to take collagen supplements. But peptides with their bitsy molecular structure can be absorbed into the skin.

Peptide is a sure-shot way to boost collagen production naturally in the skin. They can access the external subcaste of the skin, so rather than sitting on top of the skin, they sink deeply into the lower layer of the skin to reach the dermis. They shoot signals telling the cells to produce collagen and elastin.

Incorporating them into your skincare routine has many anti-aging benefits:

  • Firms Skin
  • By stimulating collagen production and improving skin elasticity, peptides make the skin firmer. They send messages to the skin cells to boost collagen synthesis as they continue to act as signaling molecules. This increase in collagen leads to enhanced skin structure and a more toned appearance, ultimately promoting firmer and more youthful-looking skin.

  • Improved skin barrier
  • The skin barrier is the body’s line of defense, protecting it against bacteria, ultraviolet rays, pollution, and other toxins. It can be damaged from over-exfoliation, exposure to cigarette smoke and other pollution, or even poor sleep. Peptides' role here is to help build up a stronger barrier.

  • Reduces wrinkles
  • Collagen can plump skin and lips. When skin is firmer and plumper, wrinkles and fine lines will be less visible.

  • More elastic skin
  • In addition to collagen, peptides also make up elastin fibers, a type of protein. These fibers make skin look firmer and tauter.

  • Eases inflammation
  • Peptides can help ease inflammation, repair damaged skin due to sun or pollution exposure, and even out skin tone.

  • Can help clear breakouts
  • Some peptides are also antimicrobial, meaning they can kill bacteria that cause acne.

    When to use:

    • After the age of 25, your body starts to slow down its collagen production, although this function will never go away completely.
    • It's a good idea to start collagen-stimulating treatments to mitigate future collagen loss as your body starts losing more collagen during the late 20s.
    • You want to create the strongest skin foundation possible while your skin cells are still functioning optimally.

In what kind of products can we find collagen?

Collagen is a crucial component found in a plethora of skincare products, with serums being particularly popular for its addition. Renowned for their capability to promote skin elasticity and hydration, collagen-invested serums have become an integral part of anti-aging skincare routines. These serums often feature smaller collagen molecules or peptides that can penetrate the skin more effectively, stimulating natural collagen production.

    Choosing the Right Collagen Serum

Kass Collagen Serum- an anti-aging serum is a beginner's & elementary treatment for lifted & firm skin! It is powered with Peptides and proteins forming an ultimate combination to address signs of aging like fine lines, forehead wrinkles, sagging skin & eye wrinkles. Our Collagen Serum helps in skin tightening to ease off smile lines.

Unlike other collagen serums found in the market which either have direct collagen derivatives, vegan or otherwise. Such collections cannot be absorbed into the skin when applied externally. An ideal situation to boost collagen production in the skin is when the functionality of the skin is aided to produce its collision internally. This can be done by incorporating ingredients that help in the process of fibroblast, which is the key process to produce more collision that brings elasticity back into the skin.
